Default Just bought some woodies!!!

I just got a nice looking pair of wood xc skis at a local charity sale
and was wondering what I don't know about prepping and using them.
Before I put gunk on the bottom do I need to prep/sand the bases?
After I put gunk on the bottom, do I smooth it out in any special way,
or just while putting it on.
Should I store them clamped with extra camber?
Are they alright with modern waxes (esp Start wax tape)?
I think I heard about waxing the entire ski with grip wax, does this work ?

Greg Fangel, a regular poster has a great site that answers most of your
questions.

I'd us only a small piece of Start wax tape.
For most hard wax conditions you wax the entire ski. Maybe not with red and
softer hard waxes.
