Default Western Virginia snowfall breakdown

Looking to relocate to Virginia . Would appreciate the break down of
average total snowfall for west of Charlottesville to winchester. Where
can i expect the most snowfall ?

I suspect that in western Virginia -- like in West Virginia, where I live --
there are two factors to consider:

1. How much snow

2. How long it lasts on the ground

Most snowfalls melt in one day. One has to ski it the next morning,
because it is usually gone by the next evening.

Snow tends to last longer in higher elevations, but, in the last few years,
east of the Appalachians got a number of big dumps.

By replacing 26101 with your zip code, you can use
http://www.skidweeb.com/index.cgi?s=drive&v=all&z=26101 to find ski areas
near that zip code.
