Salomon 347 bindings
In link.net, Mark K
typed: I was just given a pair of ELAN 190s with Salomon 347 bindings. I just purchased a new pair of boots - Nordica Easy Move 10 boots (length - 28.0) Can someone tell me the adjustments on the bindings? email to 28.0 is the size not the length, the length on a new boot will be in mm and should be moulded somewhere on the side of the boot near the sole. I think the 347 is quite an old binding, I remember having 347's on my first skis, some 20 years ago but they may have re-used the number several times since then. -- Chris *:-) Downhill Good, Uphill BAD! www.suffolkvikings.org.uk |

so i guess you dont know the settings? (which was my original question) Yeah - move the heel to fit the boot by slipping the tab to a different location, making sure to set proper forward pressure (AKA pre-load) and set the DIN for your weight and boot size with a screwdriver (the X47 line was DIN; the X27 was pre-DIN) and go out and break your leg. Is that what you wanted? (If you don't know what I'm talking about, you don't have enough basic knowledge to atempt adjustment, IMO.) Also, and again IMO, you should not attempt to use these bindings, which are too old for safety. You set and/or work on your own bindings at your own risk - I don't think you have the basic knowledge, given the content of your posts, but what the hey - your legs, your responsibility. Had a heel-thing(tm) snap right off on the wifes Salomons - not that old or that low a model, either. (I do think "heel-thing" is the correct terminology.) The Equipe models at the top of the line (i.e. 747Equipe, etc) were metal - I think the lessor models continued with plastic heel tabs to this day. Buncho junko, pardon my french. |

Yeah, I know, but they're attached to some nearly unused Sarner 180s... Buncho junko, pardon my french. Buncho junko, pardon my french. ****, Marker bindings are so far behind the times I just snapped one last season. About 4 times, IIRC. JP ************************** Still bitching. |

Easy - set them to 28. If the 347 doesn't go up to 28, replace them with bindings that do. Seriously though, you should have your bindings serviced by a quilified technician. Unfortunately, I think the 347 is old enough that qualified technicians won't work on them. Since you don't know whether they're adjusted right, don't know how to do it yourself, and won't be able to pay somebody who does, you're probably best off pitching the skis/bindings and either renting or picking up something newer at a swap. You're other option is to ski on misadjusted bindings with a much higher risk of injury when you fall. Not recomended. -- //-Walt // // The Volkl Conspiracy |

Not that it matters to the OP, the X27 line was DIN in europe. The skis sound like the bottom end rental kit that a lot of dry slopes were using in the UK 20 years ago. |
