removing Salomon binding screw covers
Is there any easy way to remove the little plastic plug that goes over the
screw of a Salomon Pilot (or Classic) binding? The plug covers the screw that is in the rear of the binding. There is a small slot on the top of the plug, but it doesn't seem to have any purpose. The only way I've found to get them off is by prying them out with a
small flathead screwdriver. One on each side works better. Unfortunately this slightly deforms the plastic pin. |

You will see it start to lift just a little as you work it up. At this point take the knife and hold it horizontal and lift up the slight edge of the plug with edge of the blade. It works everytime for me. Once I drilled a little hole it the plug and pried it out. Not the way to go. |

As the people have said, there is not easy way to get that piece out.
If it is the old style plug, after you have gotten it out, replace it with another binding screw. If it is just the cap covering the screw, just leave the cap off, as it is just a cosmetic covering. |
