What's the deal with this board? The recessed metal edges (between the
bindings) are supposed to eliminate hang-ups on rails - I've never had a
problem catching an edge on a metal rail (onyl a few times brd sliding a
wooden sawhorse thingy)

I can see the beneifit in the park, but how does this design perform with
aggressive carving and such on piste?- how can you hold an edge when the
edge is tucked up under the board??

Sounds great for someone who literally spends their day hiking the rail
park and doing more than 50/50s and simple boardslides. I can't imagine
going out cruising on a board with recessed edges though.

My guess would be, it performs quite poorly for any type of riding at
speed. Even if you're not really carving - you still need the edge to
slow down!

All I know is, if I see someone on one of these, I'm going to wait for
them to get way out of my way!

One of my freestyling buds likes them. He claims it's not that big a
deal since there's still proper edge out toward the tip and tail.

I've seen him freeride, and he's dang good, but he's also the kind of
guy that hikes a rail even on epic powder days... so I'm inclined to
think he wouldn't care even if it was pretty poor for all mountain
riding.

Something else to think about is you might miss that edge hold in the
pipe.
