Garnet Hill has 8", and Old Forge 14" of snow. Does anyone know if we
can ski around the Van Ho stadium and Flatlander TRail right now?

Checked out the Van Ho web site this morning and saw skate tracks on
the web cam view of the stadium...awesome! I guess our Lake Placid RSN
contributor has been out skiing

Sorry, Dealer - been out sking and did not see your post!

YES!!!!!!!!!! Were skiing at Van Ho; Flatlander, Bobcat, Innerloop of
the Ladies 5 and the Stadium have all been rolled and are skate and
classic ski-able. The problems are typical for early season skiing,
though - still open wet areas on the Ladies 5 and with leaves on the
trees (and a heavy snow) many trees down or overhanging on the trails.

I skied till 8:15 last nite and had to leave because the basket of my
poles became totally covered w/ ice from some of the wet areas under
the snow - it was like having frozen tennis balls on the end of my
pole!

I have heard some forecasts for temps in the high 40's, so things
might melt off fast. Kobak and I are going back to the Toll Rd. this
afternoon, if U wanna join us.

- Bob
