All I can tell you is that I've been there that time of year, often. And there's a celebration Dec. 5. Sinterklaas walks around celebrations with his helper, Black Pete, who carries the bag of goodies for the children. He's a white person in blackface. Part of the tradition is to give gifts that are wrapped to look like something else. Like if a toy is in a rectangular box you might put semi circles underneath and some slopes on top to make it look like a car? Then I think kids get some gift like a piece of candy type thing every day until xmus?
