MsNBC reporting a HUGE slide buries a bunch of cars, and sweeps a few
more over the edge, at Berthoud Pass.

Guess with the pounding this area took over the last few weeks...ya
can't be too surprised. Wouldn't C-DOT take measures to knock some of
these threats down ?

MSNBC exaggerates. Judging from the pics it's big but I have seen some
just as big on Loveland Pass. Two cars got pushed over the edge and
none were burried. C-DOT does take measures up there but that is one
of the worst areas in the state for slides. Plus, Berthoud has been
getting a lot of snow from the last few storms and there have been high
wind warnings today and it's been pretty windy over the last couple of
days. There's only so much you can do in these conditions.

Most discussions of the dangers of skiing, somebody points out that
you're in greater danger on the drive to the hill. Case in point...
