I think it's more Stanley Unwin crap.


"Pilates" is Engrish for "Pirates". It's a coded reference to Pastafarian
faith healing.

If you're doing scuba you might want to look into getting hold of a
harness for side mounted tanks, it could help with the back.

You're joking. Side mounts are crippling compared to a normal cylinder
in a stab jacket. All the load goes onto your shoulders through narrow
straps and your hips through a larger waist belt.

I figured more of the weight goes on the hips, and less on the back.


Not going by my experience of them.

The only advantages with side mounts are that you can carry more air
and get longer dive times, they're easier to drop off and change to
different cylinders if you're using stage cylinders and the cylinders
are protected by your arms if you're diving somewhere a bit
constricted.
