Evening snowboard maintenance?
On the road: Paste wax and a gummi stone.
At home: Mill file and guide, diamond stone, steel scraper, hot wax and plastic scrapers. |

I have all the tools, tuned over 1,000 snowboards at the store where
I used to work, and still take my board in ONCE a year for a edge sharp. I then carefully check the nose and tail for 20 degree bevel, put it back in if it's gone, and wax it. Since I only board 10 times a year lately, I don't need waxing with the lower end base I use on my 5 boards. Sintered 2000, maybe wax every 3 days, if you pile up the mileage. Anything higher grade, more often waxing. Keep edges dry! |

For the first time I've got my own snowboard and so I won't be hiring. So all of a sudden I care about the board! What sort of maintenance do people do each evening back in the hotel? What sort of stuff do I need to buy for this? Thanks I don't do anything other than brush most of the snow off and lock it to something. It's usually below freezing in board rooms anyway so it never rusts. I think the main thing is to make sure you dry it before putting it in a bag before going home at the end of the trip. I've had edges rusting in 6-8 hours when I haven't dried it properly. Octes |
