What to do when you have outgrown coloring easter eggs?
Ask your Mom to whip up a big batch of snow so you can go ride
snowboards!

well this is pretty crazy.. we've had 2 feet of snow
since Wed. night; it started wet but got progressively
drier as temps have dropped. We have this run/bike/kayak/ski
'tri'athalon today...feel sorry for anyone getting in that
water today when its 25 out!

forecast is for fairly cold temps at night and snowshowers
through mid week so if you are on the east coast might want
to call in sick mon/tues and get a few runs up in central
and northern vermont.

End of the year Trip Report!

This is what I did for Easter with my three sons! (while the wife enjoyed 5
days of relative peace back home)
I did end up going to Utah. Main thing was a free place to stay! My buddy in
Colorado already had his condo at Breck rented out so that sort of made the
decision for me. The conditions this year in Utah were marginal overall -
especially compared to this time last year. Snowpack is very thin. I don't
think they broke 100 inches all year and usually are at 120 by mid January.
We went to Solitude on Saturday. Nice soft spring conditions until about
1:00 pm or so. By then it was so soft/wet and grabby that you could barely
make it down the mountain. Temp was low 60s on the mountain in the
afternoon. Sunday we went to Brighton. Actually had received a few inches of
wet snow overnight and temps were in the low 40s. The boys and I had a ball
on the new soft stuff. Very buttery in the morning but since it was empty we
were able to get in some great runs before it was too sloppy. Again, we
stopped about 2:30 or so as the conditions were getting too slow. Did a few
runs off Great Western lift on its last day, but due to the aspect, most
runs already were showing rocks/stumps/earth. The boys liked the layout of
Brighton and the runs so we decided to go back to it Monday. Temps got below
freezing overnight and never broke low 40s on Monday. Overcast as well.
Probably the best day. A bit hard off of first chair, with a few icy spots
but not bad. After the temps got in the 30s and it softened up a bit it was
great. Conditions were much faster than other two days. We left about 2:30
or so not because of bad conditions but because two of my boys were just
worn out. Figured better off stopping before someone had too bad of a fall
due to being tired. Many of the resorts closed on Sunday due mainly to lack
of snow.

While not the best - any day on snow beats a day at work! Looks like
Colorado would have been a better choice for conditions. I thought I saw
some decent snows there on snocountry.com. Oh well, if I could figure out
when/where to be for fresh powder for all my trips I could make a fortune in
Vegas.

Hope everyone has good runs to the end of the season!

or you could go to Kirkwood and gamble at night in S. Tahoe
Definitely sounds like an off year for Utah, had heard Snowbasin
closed!
