Mount Snow opens next Wednesday. I was up there yesterday picking up
skis and filling out paperwork, and they're definitely planning to open
on Wednesday.

I ordered a two-foot dump for next Monday, but I'm not sure Ullr got it.
Still...Wednesday. Skiing on something. It's still skiing.

I couldn't agree more. But....this past Saturday I found myself
standing at the foot of Hunter Mountain; they had one lift running,
serving four runs. I immediately notified my family (we were all
together for an early Thanksgiving) that I might blow them off on
Sunday to get my first turns of the season in. But after reflecting
on my lack of gear, and imagining shelling out about $60 (lift and
rental) to ski in rental boots, on four runs thinly covered with
man-made boilerplate, wearing jeans and light gloves in the cold, cold
wind......I decided not to.

Now when I look in the mirror, I see a stranger staring back. Pray
for me.

Jeez, BW. I feel awful for you in a big way.

Drop me a note later in the season when the snow gets good, and I'll put
you in for a cheap friend-of ticket at Mount Snow.
