If you had a choice between Drake Bindings, Burtons and Rides, what would
you choose?

Ride or Drake

I use Rides, but would consider Drakes.

I have Rides and my buddy has Drakes. My highbacks stand a little
straighter with no forward lean on while the Drakes seem to have built in
forward lean (which I don't prefer)

You might be able to narrow the list down by bringing your boots to the
store, trying them with each binding, and seeing which ones fit well in
the binding and which ones have the most comfortable straps. I bought
Salomon bindings a few years back because, even though they're rather
lacking in features (like enough highback rotation and the ability to
move the heel cup relative to the mounting position), at the time they
had more comfortable straps than anything else I tried. If you've got
tough feet that never feel strap pain, pick based on features and
price... but keep in mind that cool features don't matter if your feet
hurt!

FWIW I found Burton straps really uncomfortable but the most recent
Burton binding I've demoed was a 2001 model. They've had three years to
improve on them.

I'd reccomend Drake first and Ride as a good second.

I agree that you should take in your boots and see what bindins fit them best.

I did have some issues getting my Ride Czar boots to fit in my Drakes, thought I
did get a good fit after some work. (I have a size 9 boot and a Medium binding)
I have the Drake Axis Limited bindings, and my experience with them as been great.
I haven't used the Ride bindings, but they were a consideration when I was buying.

I too have found that Burton straps are quite uncomfortable, which was a important
factor when I was selecting a binding because I have a high instep which a bad
strap would cause alot of pain for me.

Make sure that you put on your boots in the store, and then strap into a binding
and keep it on for a bit of time to see if the straps generate any pressure points.

I have Drake Matrix bindings (03/04 model), and I am very happy with
them. I also considered Ride, but in the end chose Drakes (after
trying each on).
