Any place with purple chair towers is OK by me...

That's the back chair with the purple towers and green chairs. The
front chair is reversed; green towers, purple chairs. They call it
the "Mountain Dew" chair. I don't know what they call the back one;
the "Screaming Purple Jesus" chair, maybe?

Is that the one that kept breaking down last year?

BTW, your on-hill pix all looked like treed runs, but the ones from
afar looked like they actually have some open slopes. I'm not a
barkbiter (too old and too slow reacting), so are there more than two
open slopes?

The first year they were open (2000) the back chair had some problems,
so they were running a pretty efficient shuttle operation back to the
front side. I haven't heard of any more recent problems with the
back chair, but I haven't really been following all the Keweenaw news.

If you check the trail map at www.mtbohemia.com (under "mountain
info") everything that looks like an open run is an open run (i.e.
everything marked blue or single black, plus the double blacks
flanking the back chair). Even if trees aren't your bag, there's
still a couple of days worth of entertainment to be had, IMHO.

BTW, I noticed that some runs were marked as triple blacks. What runs
would these be like in Colorado?

I must say again, I really enjoyed hearing about this place. Thanks. I
am anxious to get up there.
