Default Origin of Roller Skiing

While rolling this morning I wondered who invented roller skis and
when. My Internet search found this web site:

http://www.skiroll.it/storia/storia_english.htm

The origin
Rollerskis was born as Summer training technique for country skier.
First rollerskis were built in the mid ‘30s in Italy and North
Europe....

FWIW according to the German Wikipedia page "the first rollerskis were
sighted in 1924 in Berlin". They were "converted kids' kick scooters".
Another version was marketed "by the sports store Sport Hummel in
Innsbruck in 1927".

The West German combined athlete Hermann Raiser is credited with
constructing the prototype "with pneumatic tyres and caliper brakes in
the 1950's", but they weren't mass-produced in W. Germany (unlike in
Sweden and in Italy) but this took place in the 1960's in the DDR
where further development led to the "Grimmer-model" which "became a
standard in the 1970's".
