Which is better for a family of intermediates (including my
non-skiing, non-driving wife) ?? We're thinking of travelling
sometime in March.

You don't need a car for anything at Whistler once you manage to get
yourself there. Lot's of activities at the base village, although most
of them seem to revolve around shopping. Lot's of intermediate friendly
terrain.

Your wife will probably do OK in Banff as well, but the skiers will need
daily transportation to the slopes which are *not* within walking
distance to the town.

Don't know anything about Aspen, other than it's probably half again as
expensive as Banff or Whistler.

Free ski busses run from al hotels to and from the ski resorts A car is
only needed for sightseeing and if you prefer to have your own
transportation. Lots to do in Banff for the non skier and Sunshine
Village has lots of beginner/intermediate slopes. Presuming you fly
into Calgary you will need shuttle service to and from the airport to
Banff. Check out spring break schedules for each place. Whisler could
be wet for the non skier, but one can never second guess the weather.

Whistler rules if the weather doesn't screw you over. Everything is right
there at your fingertips; free shuttles; great resort. Terrain rocks

Enjoy
