problems with yahoo - was Vincet Vittoz positive
--- Gene Goldenfeld wrote: Rob, Yours is the third thread on the topic: "Here we go again" (2/3) and "Vincent Vittoz failed a drug test" (2/4). The B results are Sorry that I missed these other threads. I'm having trouble with my Yahoo spam filter. It's been a great filter, but has decided that the emails from RSN are spam (which go into a special folder). I've clicked the "not spam" button, but to no avail. Anyway to tell it to back off that any of you know? Rob Bradlee |

Rob Bradlee Rob: making the assumption that you check your email through a web-based mail system (yahoo) rather than through your local ISP, you might try using a web-based usenet/newsgroup system like groups.google.com to read and post to the rec.skiing.nordic newsgroup instead of getting the messages through your yahoo mail account. I do that a lot while I'm traveling and/or having other issues that make using groups.google more viable than my normal news.individual.net system. Groups.google is not a perfect system, but in my experience is workable and, again, in my experience, is more convenient and easier to deal with than a listserv and/or email version of a newsgroup (such as rsn). Please disregard if this has been tried and discarded. Cam |

Tho my misclassified emails were different, I've just had a long
exchange with Yahoo support over the same issue. The first thing I'd try, if appropriate, is to set up a filter in your options to identify some common feature of rsn posts (if there is one) and direct them to the appropriate mailbox. Other newsgroups alternatives, in addition to google groups, are http://www.kornet.net/webnews/group.....skiing.nordic and http://news.individual.net/ (reg needed). I'm just seeing Mitch's post. Another way to contact yahoo is to go through their Mail Help system, put in an item to search, run to the end of the response list, answer "not even close" to how we are doing and, if you're lucky, you'll get a form to submit to mail customer service. Otherwise, just send a copy of the misdirected email, with headers, to and explain the problem and why you're sending it to them.
