Default curiuos about proper lenth of poles

1 set i had went to my nose.. but the new ct1 s that ive used for a yr
only go to bottom of my chin,,,4 in difference ,,,what mite be
consensus?

top of shoulder or bottom lip, depending on technique for me... the
swix ski pole length chart is pretty close.

Not sure consensus exists. I think you have 2 corect pairs of poles. One for classic, one for skating.

So how did you end up buying those poles in those lengths?

Simple research will offer you pretty exact pole recommendations which are pretty consistent. That the basic design of a pole IMO is flawed and thus any theories only based off that, I'll offer as a quite side note. Alternative pole styles exist, with greatly different pole lengths recommended.

Really hard I found is to get a formula for hill bounding pole length. I followed one recommendation, and found I could not get the poles to the ground fast enough. I added 5cm on the next pair (cheap poles are fine for this), and then another 5cm to get it to feel "right". 20cm less than my skating length.

BTW, for rollerskiing, you might need a tad longer to compensate for the ski's height.
