threats of itimidation and libel could very well constitute illegal

Please don't misunderstand me. When I wrote "unless true", I was
referring to myself, hypothetically.

I have a sort-of relationship with a lawyer (occasional golfing
partner/opponent). He has spoken in the past of handling harassment
of this type (emails and phone calls) with a cease and desist letter.
Personally, I never saw what good a letter would do. If the
perpetrator is truly an asshole, why would he react to a letter? I'll
ask him what he thinks about your case.
