Default too warm in Vermont ?

Thinking about going next week, checked the weather and the forecast is very
warm. Killington was good when I was there last week but with all this warm
weather I'm nervous. Think chances are better for better conditions if I go
further north? Thinking about maybe sugarbush, mad river or maybe even jay
peak. Any suggestions/input?
thanx
Ron

If you are willing to go to Jay Peak go to Sunday River, Maine.

Remember that it's colder up top than at the base. With a large area
like KMart, you have the option to ski just the upper half of the hill.

The rule of thumb is 6.5 degrees C for every 1000 meters, or 3.5 degrees
F for ever 1000 feet. All other things being equal (which they never are)

Anyway, there should be plenty of snow - you got something against
spring conditions?

yah maybe your right, just seems when the weather get warm like this for a
week or 2 conditions get so crappy and they close all the good trails, but
from checking the weather you practically have to go to Canada to get cold
weather. I don't mind spring skiing at all, I certainly spent enough time in
the cold to deserve a little warm weather skiing. What can I say, I'm
spoiled and like when Kmart is fully open and all my favorite trails are
open. I'll probably book Kmart. Where Vermont skier when you need him .

Ron,
hoping for a cold snap and another good dump from mother nature

Been in the Virgin Islands for two weeks.
Not skiing until Sunday. I'll report back
then, but it doesn't help for this weekend.

As far as I know, Killington plans to be in
full operation through March. They won't close
anything except for conditions until April 1.

Another good dump would be nice and March
sometimes delivers.

St John. Near Coral Bay. Resort
is called Concordia Estates. High
class tents. Great views south and
east. We can see Tortola but not
Road Town from our tent and our
favorite restaurant, Miss Lucy's.

Or...
Get to like soft easy bumps and
corn snow. Early gets you frozen
corduroy and not much else.

Killington was glorious today. Early
on it was good corduroy but later
we found where the sun was hitting
(South Ridge) and nailed that hard.
As I said, nice soft bumps.

It turned out much better than I thought. Tuesday was mashed potatoes, not
my favorite type of snow but still good. Freakin warm as hell. Wednesday
about the same.Outer limits had huge moguls but all soft and deep and rough
on the ol legs so went elsewhere. Thursday it started to rain about lunch
time, stopped for lunch and prayed it would stop. Most people came off the
mountain but it only rained for about an hour and then went back out from
about 2-4 and it turned out to be a great afternoon. Found needles
eye, vertigo and stichline littered with bumps and finished the day off on
those 3 runs. The weather report called for more rain but the pleasant
surprise was seeing snow on the ground when I woke up, looked like a couple
of inches in some places. Did some of the best glad skiing in a long time.

Been going to Kmart for years and finally got to do low
rider,patsy,somewhere,nowhere,julio amnd a few others I can't remember.
Practicaly killed myself when I snagged a tree stump and took a little tree
out, lost my skiis a few times and smashed my shoulder into a big tree. My
new skiis are now officially broken in. Finished the day off on needles
eye, vertigo and stitchline, great great conditions with some fresh snow
added to them. Broke a pole and a zipper on my pants . Skiing moguls with 1
pole is difficult to say the least. I think my knees are gone, I never felt
such pain in the knees after this year, great great time. Woke up this
morning on Long Island to snow flakes, must be snowing up there, hope it
gets cold again, the old knees can probably take 1 more trip.
