Advice wanted on spending a season in Canada...
"Al_xtreme" wrote in message .. .
With 1500 Cdn$ / month you'll be okay but with 2000$ you'll live like a snowboard king ;-) AleX "Ray" a écrit dans le message de om... Al...many thanks Mate, I will look into it. Any thoughts on how much cash I would need (rent, pass, food etc)? Many thanks to everyone who responded to this thread... I have done lots of research based on the information provided. So far, I have on my shortlist: Banff, Nelson and Rossland. Can anyone shed any light on the nitty gritty of long term renting as a snowboarding tourist. Specifically I'm finding it hard to understand if renting an apartment in one of these towns is feasible (ie. will rental companies lease to a foreign tourist?) because so few rental agencies seem to have decent web sites (I found 1 in Banff). The other thing which is troubling me slightly is access to the resort. I found bus info for Banff, but Rossland and Nelson remain a mystery. I don't want to get hooked up with a great apartment but find I can't get to the slopes easily. Anyone with any experience of doing what I'm trying to do? Many thanks again! Ray. |
