Before some pretentious boor says Mt. McKinley because it's the
highest Mt. in the US and one _could_ ski it by walking (what a
waste), I'm going to guess that you mean "lift served"? Isn't that
A-Basin?

I have no idea but yes I meant lift served , not just a mountain that you
could climb or heli up top and ski down from . Not such an easy question is
it ? I googled 1st for an answer and realized how tricky a question this is
.. They all want to claim they're the highest . Then come the details , the
highest lift , the highest peak , point , from the base , from the bottom of
the lift , the vertical , horizontal , from sea elevation yadda yadda
ayyyyyy . I'm just looking for the tallest mountain in the U.S , that sticks
up highest into the heavens that has lift operated skiing .

Okay, but are you looking for the mountain with the highest
lift-served elevation, or the highest mountain that HAS a lift?

I believe A-basin is the highest in-bounds peak (13,050') that HAS a
lift, but the lift only goes to 12,478'. Loveland claims lift
service to 12,700', although their mountain summit is lower than
A-Basin (13,010'). So between these two, Loveland has higher
lift-served skiing, but A-basin has higher in-bounds terrain.

Now, if you really mean the mountain that "sticks up highest into the
heavens that has lift operated skiing", then we have to consider
mountains like Shasta, at 14,162', although the lifts don't even
reach 7000' and the peak is NOT "in-bounds". Still, it's got
lift-operated skiing, and sticks up pretty high.

Here's something someone posted a few years back that may be of interest
http://verticalfeet.com/

I don't think it is completely correct as far as the true vertical that you
can ski in one run without doing some traversing along some cat trail.

Here is a shot from Saturday showing the progress on the new Breck
lift. No towers yet, but you can see bases for 5 towers in you look
closely:

The peak above the lift is Peak 8, elevation 12,998, and skiable 3
directions off the top.

Just thought I'd remind readers that Mike Saemisch is a long time
participant in a criminal conspiracy of real world harassment, has committed
felonies himself, has deliberately lied to law enforcement, is a member of
the terrorist gang that turned this place into the sewer of usenet, and
worst of all, is a founder and moderator of rsa.terrorist, where the only
topic banned is discussion of the sick, sordid history of the participants
of this newsgroup.
Let POWDER magazine know that if they buy photos from such a scumbag, you
won't buy their magazine. I've already canceled my subscription and told
them exactly why.
