Fischer Outbound vs. Karhu Pavo
folks,
i'm trying to decide between these two skiis. they seem very similar to me, except for the huge weight difference: 1.990 kg for the outbound versus 1.162 kg for the pavo. otherwise they're both waxless, have 10-13 mm of sidecut, are about 70-73 mm wide and 189-190 mm long, and have full-length metal edges. has anyone compared these two skiis directly? i of course find the vastly ligher weight of the pavos appealing, but am worried that they might not be as stiff or durable as the outbounds. karhu's website says the pavos are double-cambered and have moderate flex. but fischer's website doesn't say jack. the outbound seems to be a lot more popular. someone please tell me though why i shouldn't save the weight and get the pavo! thanks, ben PS: i am what David Mann would call a "STRIDING STABILITY" skier: http://home.comcast.net/~pinnah/Dirt...r/bc-skis.html |

If you want to make miles get the Pavo's. Karhu's tend have a base pattern that climbs better, but is slower on the downhill. I wouldn't worry about the durablity of any Karhu ski. _ Booker C.
