Hey there,

Could use a little help in trying to find an old Snowboard Life
article written around 96-98. The article was about using your knees
to help drive your turns. Would like to get my hands on a copy of it.
I tossed my issues from around that time frame as I sorta got out of
it later on. Getting bit by the bug again and recalled that article
being helpful to me. A big thanks for your help and I would certainly
appreciate it.

If you're talking about hardboots, that sounds like:

Thanks Jason!
Although it's not the article I was looking for it did contain some of
the info I was after (2nd to last paragraph) pertaining to which knee
to move and when. It helped me to initiate my turns on steeper terain.
Is SB Life still around in any shape or form? I didn't have any luck
finding good info on them or my searching skills are weak.

I've got that. (checks bookcase). Damn, chucked it out :-(

I've still got my copy. smug

I did catch some nice footage of Craig Kelly on Extreme channel the
other night, in a film called Four Play. Sadly, that footage must be
about the most recent you can get.

Missed that... damn. I bet TiVo doesn't have "Craig Kelly" in the
wishlist criteria... and I can't record *all* snowboarding, there's just
so much of it!

I don't know - I can't believe I'd have chucked it out, but then I can't
find it..... I *hope* I haven't, but I've been known to do some pretty
stupid things at times

It's dead, Jim. Those of us who actually like to turn snowboards on
snow have been mourning ever since.

Ah yes, just pulled out my stash of SBLife. The BackCountry Issue was
a classic. However, I am terribly dissapointed that I didn't manage
to save the issue with the article on "How to buy a custom race
board". There was a great article profiling the "Bbig 3" North
American alpine board builders. Donek/Coiler/Prior all pontificating
on what makes a great alpine stick. Another classic, too bad I didn't
manage to save that one...

I remember that one too. I didn't subscribe but I went out and bought
the issue for that article. I even just did a google search for it,
alas, nothing
