Fix XC by making it more like bike road racing!

I think you missed my point: those at your speed and most of the rest of
us skiing different races, which mitigates the mass vs interval
start difference in citizen racing.

Of course interval start races have their own problems. I had an early
starat on a very cold day, and a few extra degrees probably would have
helped the glide. There's falling snow and in long races and pack
tactics by people who started at different times.

If the race is gonna end in a sprint every year, you're gonna
have problems. Just a warning for the XC mass starts...
