Default Training Secrets

Right then guys, I stand corrected. Mea culpa. I did say it was MY
humble opinion.
It was the comment from Bill shown below that brought me down to
earth.

In the time before the internet and The Master Skier I used to long
for the next copy of
Cross Country Skier and SkiTrax to seek the ski knowledge which I
craved.
I'm a lone skier living in North England, 54degNorth, with a history
of no snow winters
and faced with travel to Scotland or Europe to train and do citizen
races, as a singleton.
I was part of a ski club several hundred miles away and the only ski
information I got
from them was when chatting at the trackside in the Scottish rain
while changing for
their annual race.

So I tend to dream of US and Canada as being two skiing coordinated
countries with
the clubs and venues being part of a national network having
dissemination of skiing
information to the people who need it.
Then I read a post from a stranger sometime and realise that a skiers
life over the water
is not that much different to mine.

I suppose, if we do not allow announcements specifically to do with
our sport in a public medium, how else are we going to know what
resources or knowledge is available? Is that not what usegroups are
for? As a ski coach developing young athletes, I think we could do
with less sarcasm and rather promote information sharing on this
group ...
