Default Aspen v Mammoth

I have just spent a week at Aspen and was extremely impressed by the snow
and runs but was wondering how it compares with Mammoth. Has anyone been to
both mountains that can give a comparison?

I've never been to Aspen but I've been to Vail (it sucked). Mammoth is
the real deal on par with Alta-Snowbird. The only negative to Mammoth
is weekend crowds and poor visibility above tree line.

Aren't you the guy who thinks the Artic Circle is at the 30th Parrallel?

Mammoth gets frequent high winds and massive dumps of wetter snow. The
town is more of a bedroom community than Aspen -- kind of boring. Aspen
is sort of like Hollywood in the Rockies.

You mean hookers and cheap electronics?

Vail I spent too much time treversing and accessing terrain. It
reminds me of Whistler in a lot of ways.
