Favorite time for Aspen?
My wife and I are taking a few nieces and nephews snowboarding this
winter. They are in their early 20s and my wife likes Aspen for it's skier friendly amenities like the shuttle buses and all the good restaurants and shops. I can't believe I'm actually asking the "will there be snow..." question, but but we have quite a bit of flexibility on when we go, and (please bear with me can someone recommend their "favorite week" as far as good fresh snow but not bitterly cold. For example, I usually go to SLC twice a year for "guy trips," in January and again in early March. Early March is my favorite time there because it is frequently ~30F and has lots of that wonderful Utah snow, whereas in January I frequently freeze my cojones off. I understand there are no certainties or guarantees when it comes to weather, but I do appreciate the informed opinions of the people here. Dave * anywhere I said "snowboarding," I really meant "skiing" |

Thank you Bob, that was very helpful. Dave |

Aspen's not too far from me and I was thinking about skiing there this season and I've also been thinking it would be nice to meet you, so if you're up for a little pathological liar rendezvous let me know when you're in that area. Thanks Bob. That would be very cool. Right now, as a compromise, we are talking about going late February. That gets me a little closer to those March conditions and fits a little better into the niece's and nephew's schedule. I haven't been there in 5 years, and I will totally defer to you on a place, but I do remember eating some excellent wings at a Annie's (I think) and the bar at the Hotel Jerome looked nice too. That is if you have the courage to stand before me! I do require that prior to the meeting, you locate Osama bin Laden and get him to turn himself in as well as change the gravititational constant of the universe. I'm not saying it'll happen for sure - in fact I'm kind of flaky that way, I stood up bdubya at Taos last season, but it *could* happen, so... And you can always write me at the email on this post - it's real. We'll try to fine-tune when you get a time frame. Ah ha! I have set over 10 meets in Aspen with Bob Lee and, time and time again, blah, blah, courage, decency, blah, veiled threat, various reference to the male urogenital tract, blah. I'll touch base when it gets closer, right now, February is an eternity away for me too. Dave PS Bluff called!!!!!! and !!!!! |

At least he can read, dumbass. Hey I saw an article about how Wyoming and Montana have absurdly low employment rates and employers are screaming for new hires. How come you can't find a real job instead of housesitting? |

Scraping the sastrugi in early summer doesn't impress me. Only an idiot would try that on the skillet. So we're basically back to the Cheney response. Unless you have something along the lines of blower tickling your scrotum somewhere in your photo memoirs. You haven't demonstrated any skiing that requires some semblance of rudimentary avalanche forecasting skills. Or even the need for a traceiver, shovel, or probe. You only impress recreational skiers who are incapable of discriminating between an intermountain and a continental snow pack. "A kiss on the cheek might be quite continental," Marilyn used to sing. Jeffy, you're about as stupid a cocksucker as I've ever come across. A veritable nobody who has accomplished nothing. For a 16 year old, you would be considered a moron, Over 50 - wow - how did you become such a mental wasteland? Lead in your drinking water? Were your parents into drugs? Did they drop you on your head multiple times on concrete? I can see why you don't work at Mickey D's. You are not capable of working a Spatula - even with a year's worth of training |

But did you ever consider that the pictures demonstrated some experience at Aspen? I did from the description of them. I didn't look at them. |
