Weather Woes
This morning I had the unpleasant task of canceling our annual Trapp lodge vacation --- their trails are closed again. This was the last time the whole family was going to go, as our eldest kid will be in college next year. This is the first time in 15 years weather canceled this vacation. (Once we left after 6 days because the 2' base had melted...) Woe is me... At least the Weston loop survived, insulated as it was by the big snow just 5 days ago. -- Andrew Hall (Now reading Usenet in rec.skiing.nordic...) |

Such a bummer. I'm sorry. Our winter in southeast Michigan has been
pretty grim for cross-country as well. I hate this. WInter is supposed to be white and cold. June wrote in message ... Hi Lew,
I am deeply saddened that you once again bring the God of the Old Testament into a conversation about weather and the actions of humans. How is it that you are qualified to know the actions and motivations of God? You should tread lightly on the off chance that God does exist and turns his wrath on you. When I was at Trapps last week-end I made inquiries about the Mansfield / Trapps connector trail. What I heard from more than one person is; things are not so simple. Mr. Trapp did not just wake up one day decide to anger the population. And that when all is said and done, Mansfield / Trapps may end up stronger and better. One thing is for certain, there was no mention of God, retribution or pettiness. Lew, sorry for going on a tear you are usually so positive and generous. Can we just leave God to the Oval Office? In the mean time, I'll pray for snow. /john |

Don't know if this helps, but overall, it might be looking up finally? http://www.skiingweatherman.com/weather.php |

You can think of it as karma, or just poetic justice. More simply, Johannes von Trapp is getting what he deserves. Lew Lasher Cambridge, Massachusetts and Stowe, Vermont |

Hi Lew,
I apoligize for being thin skinned. I guess I'm not ready to pass judgement on JvT. /john |
