Default Diamir Titanal 1 retrofit - XL size

Hey fellow backcountry bums. I can get a good deal on a pair of second
hand Diamir Titanal 1 bindings. Problem is they are size XL and my
boots are size 10. Anyone have any experience retrofitting or rigging
these bindings in any way to allow smaller than recommended boots to
fit? Could I just mount the binding further back so I am not too far
forward?

Let it snow!

Has to do with the bar length, so you can't just mount further back. The
bar has some construction details that make it unreasonable to cut it
shorter and drill a few new holes to re-attach. IMO it's not practical.
I also went through this, looking at a cheap large size before biting
the wad of dollars and buying the right size. I couldn't find a source
for shorter replacement bars, either.

The bar of the Titanal 1 has a habit of fracturing and this is
exacerbated if you use the larger sizes of binding than are necessary
for your own foot size. This is because of the point of leverage you
place on the bar when in the up-hill mode, particularly when using the
heel step. I'd recommend using the shortest binding for your boot, and
also you should note that the newer bindings have a modified and
stronger shaped bar.
