GPS and skiing experiment
Hi,
I have made a simple experiment. Just bought my TomTom One GPS and took it to mountains in Breckenridge, CO. Enabled recording software and pace started skiing down at moderate pace on Peak 7 blues. here are two parts (google fails to load everything at once - too many way points?): http://tinyurl.com/2kst7d http://tinyurl.com/32tu5u I would never tell that at certain parts I was doing 44MPH. Also map indicates I was in the forest - not sure if it is GPS error or the satellite imagery mapping issue. BTW, as far as the altitude, my GPS was about 30 feet off when comparing with blue informational sign showing the altitude at certain point of the lift. BTW, google earth is showing a slightly different elevation then my GPS and those signs too. Cheers, Andy |
