Sorry for the OT / Non-FF bashing stuff...but does anyone familiar
with MS Powerpoint know how to make / begin a POSTER, as opposed to a
slide show ?

How would a poster differ from a slide show of one slide?

Beats me...but I've been told it's somehow formatted differently...

Sorry, but I don't see the problem.

Create a new document in PowerPoint, use page setup to resize the
page(s) to whatever size you'd like the poster to be, start creating.

Remember, Google is your friend!

I just Googled "Powerpoint Poster" and got 1.6 million hits. Every
link on the first page talked about how to use Powerpoint to create a
poster...

What I've done is to put it all on one Powerpoint slide, with tiny fonts
and small graphics. Sketch the layout of your poster on paper first -
what sections go where. Then use the 300% magnification level or
whatever works level best for you to put that material on the one-slide.
It's a bit of a pain, but it can be done. Then take it to Kinko's,
and they can blow it up and print it on 3'x5' paper or larger. Comes
out looking great!

The other more crummy way is make whole slide show with no master (i.e.
no header/logo/whatever on each slide), then get Kinko's to lay them out
for printing onto a single large sheet (e.g. 3'x5') paper in your
desired order (vertical, horizontal, whatever). Be careful that they
get the right order!

I've done it both ways, and recommend the first way for a higher quality
product. Either way, though, it'll cost some $$, maybe $100.
