As long as they have an extraordinarily good late season on the south
island commencing September 2 for three weeks, I'll be one happy
vegemite. I *hate* waiting.

"what?" (scctch)

"There's a fire near you, just thought you might like to know" (scctch).

"Dang, now you tell me". (scctch).

well, a lot of foreign ski teams who were headed to NZ for their mid year
training, came to australia instead (south america had a crap season too, so
we were the fall-back).

My question is (besides do we need to kiss our collective asses goodbye) has
your agency
been paying attention to any info we haven't heard or is it just the usual
media hype about something that is a long way off?

I have tremendous respect and admiration for people who go bust their
hinders in the smoke and soot and flames and danger for
nowhere-near-as-much-money-as-it-should-be, so please don't take this
the wrong way, but...

......why in hell are you wearing a freakin' ASCOT?

It looks like a bandana to me - something you near-easterners may not
have heard about? You know, like cowboys and indian fighters and buffalo
shooters and firefighters wear?

Actually (for real) I carry a bandana in both my spring and winter parka
pockets (and summer hike packs) - dandy for first aid compresses and a
whole slew of other functions ...
