Rocky Mountain House - where to go?
I am going to be in the Rocky Mountain House area (closest city Red Deer).
What is the closest mountain to go snowboarding at? Suggestions and directions? Thanks, Tmuld. |

Banff (Sunshine, Lake Louise, Norquay) is about 3 1/2 hours away, Jasper (Marmot Basin) about 4 1/2. To get to Banff, get to highway 2, south on highway 2 to Airdrie, west on highway 567 to highway 22, south on highway 22 through Cochrane to the #1 (TransCanada), west on the TransCanada to Banff. Or you could go into Calgary on highway 2 then take the TransCanada (which is 16th Ave in Calgary) to Banff, but that's a good 45 minutes longer. Not sure if there is any local hill near RMH. Neil |
