Default Problems With Flow Bindings & Minon ThirtyTwo Boots

My girlfriend has some ThirtyTwo Minon boots and is looking to get
some Flow bindings, but we've both heard that people have had problems
with ThirtyTwo boots and Flow bindings.

Does anyone else have any experience with these boots and bindings?

I have experience with both, but not with both together.

32 boots are the best ones I've tried, especially when you mold
the liners to your feet.

Flow bindings.. I was not able to make them lock the heel
on any boot I had at the time. Had at least half an inch
heel lift just from the binding itself. But I think I was trying
this on a pretty old pair of Flows - maybe they improved
since then.

I have Vans Jamie lyn 2002 and a 2003 flow binding and I woldn't recomand
going with anything but a flow boot. I love my boots and I love my bindings,
but- the boot got stuck in the binding and cut the heel of the boot, and
worst then that, on big jumps, when the landing was not perfect and I was
putting a lot of prssure on the board to correct it,I would get heel lift
and twice I had the wole boot come out of the binding!!!!

Hey Arvin; I just got a new board (Atomic Alibi 159)and a set of Flow
bindings. I have a pair of Northwave ( 3 year old Kevin Jones ,size 12 )
boots and they seem to fit fine. What problem were you referring to. Later

Yes! That's exactly what happened to my friend. He kept getting stuck
in the FLOW bindings and couldn't get out because the highback cut
into the heel of the boot (Vans Contras).

It wasn't my setup, just a friend of friends that came with us to
Whistler. She seems to have a LOT of trouble getting into her bindings
and I noticed that the Northwave model she had (white/grey outers) had
kind of an outjutting heel that was getting chewed up by the highback.
Of course it later turned out that she reconstructed her bindings in
correctly as well (put the asymmetrical cuffs on the wrong bindings).
So that was the main problem... but I noticed that my other friend who
has FLOWS and Van Contras with the Boa System also had a really chewed
up heel and all sorts of fit issues... of course the little Boa knob
on the boot tongue that you use to tighten the boots in lieu of laces
broken off because it kept getting banged against or squashed by the
front cuff - broke off after 2 weeks of use... leading him to resort
to duct taping his boots to tighten them. I think the problem with the
boots is the shape... here is my terrible ASCII diagram

(Northwave)
