Default 3D animation of all WL races

anyone using Google Earth?
A nice way to get a impression of how a worldlopp race is could be to
se a 3D animation going through the track. I made one for Marcialonga.
If you run this file you will get a 3D fly through of the race form a
birds view.

Now, could someone do the same for Birkie and Keski?
so we can get all WL races done.
The Marcialonga animation is extra good because of the steep big
mountains.

Save this text as a ML.kml file and open it with Google Earth.

Tracks for Birkebeinerrennet, Vasaloppet and a few other races can be
downloaded from http://tomta.no/ge/tracks.kmz

I recommend changing the viewing tilt angle from the default 45 deg to
at least 60. Go to ToolsOptionsControls, tick Advanced and you'll
find the setting under "Driving Directions Tour Options"

excellent tracking, Trygve!

Terje: you need Google Earth Plus to make tracks.
it's only 20USD fun so go for it.

I'll keep on working for more WL tracks. Maybe Worldloppet.com wants it

Anyone else? with tracks?

Another great tool is Topofusion - www.topofusion.com. It allows you to
build networks of tracks, average tracks (making it more accurate) and a lot
of other cool stuff.

I have only worn my GPS in a few races. It is pretty cool technology.
www.endlesspursuit.com allows you to record all of your workouts and
calculates all sorts of crazy numbers for you. FOr example, I downloaded my
2004 Owl Creek Chase race and it calculated that I burned 1500 calories in
70 minutes. Plus average speed, watts, uphill time, speed, etc, etc, etc.
