Just returned from Innsbruck skiing
I was a first time skier in Austria. There was no snow when I got there so I
went to Stubai Glacier to ski. I wasn't bad. Not too big but plenty of snow. I would not recommend it for a beginner looking for green slopes. They have a bunny slope but it then goes to blue. It started snowing two days before I left but the other slopes were not open as of that time. They say it would take a couple of weeks of good snow to get it prepared. The ride to the Glacier took about 1:15 from Innsbruck, but as I understand from the locals the other slopes take 30 to 45 minutes from town. I would recommend staying in town since there is a lot to do there when you are not skiing. |
