I didn't think tumbleweed was an Alpine phenomenon.

Quiet in here this year, isn't it?

In that case, I'll be a complete ******* in a couple of weeks for a

Sure is - lured away by web forums, perhaps?

The season isn't looking bad at all, whether for (European) snow-cover or
ski industry bookings.

Had pretty epic conditions in the Aravis recently, and the Grand Massif was
looking okay, too.

Flaine.

The original plan was to maybe do the same thing I did lat year, which
was to take two weeks, of which the second would be an off-piste
course. After booking the holiday though, I had unexpected car
expenses, so I decided against booking the course. I'll just spend a
couple of weeks generally bimbling.

We had a couple of days in Tignes with daughter on the way back from UK
at Xmas (2 days whiteout then glorious sun & powder), then I had a week
in the Allos valley (1 day whiteout, then 5 days sun, but v. cold, -25C
with windchill) with some old friends a couple of weeks ago, and we
skied last Saturday in Terminillo where I first put skis on some 34
years ago. Resort hadn't changed much except all the drags are now
chairs. Snow was wonderful, sunny, and very quiet despite only being an
hour from Rome. We passed all the Romans driving up there on Sunday as
we were driving Romewards to see the Italy-England 6N game. Trip also
included staying in Rieti where waife and I first met and lived for a
couple of years. Nice seeing old friends and places.

We will have some day trips to Limone in the next couple of months when
the snow/weather is favourable, and also a weekend trip end of April,
possibly to Engelburg.

I was in Morillon and Samoens on Sunday. Excellent, if rather cold. Lots
of bumps everywhere. Of course it could all be gone in another couple of
weeks....
