Salomon Classic Boots-No More Foot Pain!
I finally figured out why I could never wear the Salomon classic boots
when they went to the 2 part sole. After trying the original Bumble Bee (Yellow and Black) Salomon Classic 9 I would get really awful pain within minutes just back of the ball of the foot. The other night I bought some new Salomon RC Carbon Classics. After skiing yesterday for hours I had no pain. A quick look at the bottoms revealed the differences between the boots. The Classic 9 just like the new Atomic's which I tried have a section of the 2 part sole ending right under the ball of the foot and this is covered by the forward plastic piece. If the boot is flexed by hand it's easy to see how the sole hinges or breaks right under the ball of the foot. This constant hot spot is what killed my feet. If you notice this yourself try the higher end Salomon Classic boots like the Carbons. The overlapping of sole pieces is close to the heel alowing a smooth arc for the sole to flex. I hope this helps anyone else experiencing the discomfort I had. |
