If they could have guarantied a slide, they should have let him ride the
lift.

Seriously, what good does a beacon if you don't practice regularly,
other than encourage someone to get in over their head? Doesn't sound
like there's any requirement to do a quick refresher search, or somehow
identify competent backcountry skier vs untrained neophyte.

FWIW, Alpine has for many years set up practice burial scenarios for
anyone's use. I sometimes wear my beacon in-bounds when fresh snow
conditions seem sketchy even after competent avalanche control is
completed - nothing's perfect.

If you have one there are definitely times to wear it.

Trunky (Scott Abraham) wouldn't ski anything of that level or difficulty anyway. But that certainly was a good imitation of it's social skills.

I thought he had a good point until I looked at the trail map

http://bridgerbowl.com/mountain-and-...area-trail-map

"Restricted access
Avalanche transceiver required"

Pretty obvious - or did they change this after his rant went public?

What a coincidence. Was just now reading this article on "injustice collectors":

Except that he would never have paid out cash in the first place. He'd be bawling about how he should get his ticket for free.

The cry-baby in this video should be given a special free pass that gives him fresh tracks on that lift right after a big snowfall, before it's open to any other skiers. No transceiver required.

Trunky's entitlement payments have had to have skyrocketed over the past 6-7 years. They have generally and I have no doubt that it would apply and exploit every single one of them to their fullest extent. Including ones that it would only marginally or NOT qualified for. A "single mom" can sponge a lifestyle of a working person making $80K/yr. these days.

I see trunky eating at soup kitchens, eating for free with 2fer coupons, and buying Tide with his foodstamps to sell for $5 less. If that nurse is taking care of it, it can be doing that with no expenses at all and raking in a pretty good amount of cash. I have neighbors doing just that when their kids are out of prison they group up, collect separate benefits, buy at auctions and sell on craigslist, and have quite a bit of spending cash.
