Default Turnstyle board? Balance board?

Sorry to pry, but does your username have anything to do with injuries?
Sustained on any kind of board? Skate, mountain, or snow?

Busted! Broken collarbone 2003 mountainboarding - still not joined up.
Though in the interests of balance, I have dislocated my elbow snowboarding
as well. And concussion on a dry slope...hmmm - and I broke a finger on a
dry slope as well. Just generally brokern, really.

As far as the mountain boarding, rocks & dirt just don't seem like the
terrain where I want to do my falling. Sure I've biffed/fallen/crashed
on an MTB--and it wasn't always fun. Including the fall where I got a
grade-2 (fairly mild) concussion. But I'd expect to fall way more on a
mountain board. Maybe a great rider wouldn't. I would.

People do get hurt. Even on a good day you'll have a few scrapes! Most of
the people I know who ride regularly or compete have been broken something
but that's usually in comps or otherwise pushing it. But because a lot of us
are older and have to make it to work on Monday there's less of a stigma to
pads than in skateboarding. Most people wear at least helmet, wristies, knee
and elbow pads, and for freeriding rough or forest terrain, padded shorts
and body armour as well. I wear hockey pads for boarder-x!

I could be wrong, but although I think an ATB fall is usually milder than an
MTB fall just cos you're nearer the ground.

Liz
