Jason, if you are interested in surfing, you should look over on the
alt.surfing newsgroup. More lively than this group with a few
disproportionately vocal PNW'ers.

Yeah, I've skimmed there a bit to find out the well known local spots,
board advice, etc. "lively" is one way to put it :P.

Good meeting you at Mt Hood BTW.

C.

Sorry, having trouble matching names faces and emails. Is this Thomas?
I didn't meet anyone I didn't like that weekend, so I can still say
with certainty it was nice meeting you .

I guess growing up in the cold water might have something to do with it. I
used to wear a 4mil shorty when I was in high school (before I knew better).
If I'm able to make it back out in the water this summer we should go.
Short Sands in August/September is always nice plus its a good place to
learn (despite the hike in). I've got an extra board and wetsuit (4/3) if
it would fit.

Yup, I went to short sands a couple times last summer. About drowned
myself a few times as well... now I know that I should spend time just
catching the mush waves way inside and learn how to pop up, control
where I'm going, and build some paddle endurance before I go back to
getting outside.

I'm sure I'll be there with some regularity on the weekends this
summer. Drop a line if you're headed down this way. Are there any
other spots on the coast around here that have the offshore winds in
the summer?
