Thule and Yak roof boxes are fairly expensive, are there other box
alternatives available?

There's Cardboard. Less durable, but much much less expensive.


Wrap the cardboard in fiberglass and resin - added advantage; ready-made
kayak if a flood springs up.


Plus people will think you're a Real Skier(TM)
