I was in a whiteout at Alta before I knew that mountain. But knowing
mountains, in general, helped. And when I was in subsequent whiteouts
at Alta I knew that I felt much better than I did the first time.

Any more questions?

Also a fair question. Is Alta above the tree line?

Most of it? No. Some very wide open areas though that might as well be
as related to the conversation. Areas that I've stayed away from when
whiteouts threaten.

Very eerie up on "The Knob" chair at Marmot Basin in a whiteout. Because of
the ledges, the only thing that makes sense is to look for the blue
intermediate signposts.

Another question.. you born in 1954? I was born in '53

Yes I was.

Sure, in some resorts not knowing the mountain may result in one
ending up dead (cliffs and other nasties).

I got whited-out at Mammoth once in a windy storm coming down off
Chair 3. I fell hard when I dropped over the backside of a drift that
I couldn't see, but I could smell the sulfur fumarole which gave me a
general indication of where I was, so I headed gingerly downhill to
where I thought would be the location of the mid chalet was, and
eventually homed in on the sound of the gondola machinery.

We have the Retrogressive Preservative Party, the Lie-brawl Party
(retards) and the Conform Party up here in Kanuckistan..

Hie Hie, lets get into the Aquavit now....

Uh, it appears you've already been into the Aquavit...
If you open almost any newspaper published in the previous few years
you should discover that 2 of the above mentioned parties no longer
exist.
Mr Harper continues to lead the local branch of the repubnican party
but we don't call it that.

My suscprition expired in '79...

Thats correct, but an unfortunately long memory caused me to assume he was
referring to the Liberal Party of course, but also the Progressive
Conservative Party and The Reform Party, the 2 of which joined to form the
Conservative Party of Canada. He had forgotton, as have most of us outside
of Ottawa, about the New Democrats.

No Brainer here. Its always time to start drinking Scandanavian Caraway
flavoured liquor. Mead works too.

I am Gonar the Incontinent, and I subscribe to Aquvavit. It is an
excellent
aperitif, and kills athletes foot fungus as well.

As soon as I am done bathing my feet in aquavit, I will lead my
hoards
north to Canadia and rid you of the foot fungus that plagues you..
