Default Maxiglide "Speed Powder"?

I've still got a jar of it, leftover from the 80's or early 90's. I've
never actually used any of it; as I recall, I picked it up for cheap at the
annual Gart Brothers "Sniagrab" sale. Always wondered why Maxiglide could
sell so much flouro powder for so little $$ (especially compared to similar
products from other companies). Anyone know anything about this stuff?

Great for early season golf course skiing when the ground is not frozen.
Prevents icing when powder snow is melting from below. Good for about 45
minutes or so until it wears off. Other than that it can just get
youyspecial attention in airport security lines.

It doesn't sound like you two are talking about the same product.
Maxiglide Speed Powder is not the same as the Maxiglide greasy stuff
everybody puts on their waxless skis. It was a product that claimed
to be a fluoro for all conditions. I still have my jar, too. I could
never find a condition that it was particularly good in. Has anyone?
Also I could never get it to sparkle while ironing like with other
fluoros. Left me wondering if it was really a fluoro.

It is one and the same. Iron on powder. A better solution to that early
seaaon condition of melting powder is cerax #4 liquid, It lasts longer than
the maxiglide powder and is still available.
