Default where would you go?

Hi,
Flying to Bergamo airport with Ryanair on 17th Jan.
First time in Italy as I usually drive to across to Avoriaz, la plagne
etc.
Party of 4 comprising two enthusiastic teenagers who ski all day and
their "getting on a bit, but won't admit it" parents.
Advice on area / accommodation would be welcome.

Regards
Graham

Last year we flew to Bergamo, hired a car and drove up to near Aosta. Lots
of sking choice. Small resorts which we preferred like Notre Dame de Rhemes
and also bigger such as La Thuile, Pila and Courmayeur. All within short
driving distance. Very few queues even in half term week. Rented an
apartment near Aosta.

Madonna area is very scenic with excellent pistes and piste
maintenance. cheaper to stay in Folgarida (not the same as FolgaRIA)
or Dimaro. Might not be enough night life for your teens though.

Val Gardena would be my pick. 3.5 hour drive from milan.
