Page one story
with a picture that will encourage people to stay home......

Quotes
Sarah Thorson a spokeswoman for Killington Resort said that snowmaking
was winding to a close after this weekend.....

It is real hard to make snow if you have no air compressors and I did
not see many of the units with the internal compressor.

I tried to find one that I didn't have to pay for and couldn't. If
someone does better, let me know.

Doesn't the Globe website give you a certain number of free articles
per month, like the NYT website?

Another thing that usually works is that if you can get the title of
the article, then Google for it, you get a free link in. That was
true of the NYT and Globle websites But it's a pain in the ass to
read a whole paper that way, so I wound up paying. The Times at
least is worth it. The Globe - maybe not so much.

I have a new internet rule now: Pay for the stuff that you like and
find useful, otherwise it eventually might not be around anymore, and
you will have nobody but yourself to blame. If it's a donation site
like Wikipedia, donate something.

IIRC, the Globe just wants you to registered with them, like the
Washington Post. They start asking for moolah when one is searching
their archives, and want a specific article.. The LA Times is going to
go the NY Times route at the beginning of March. I don't know the
Globe will follow their NY Times parent company, given they are lucky
to still be in business, given the turmoil they have been in the last
couple years.

It's curious that the worse a paper gets the more they want to charge.
I canceled the local fishwrap when the price rose to $250 a year.
That's more than my season pass, and the best thing about it was the
comics page!

here is a tiny url of the Killington Article in question that Downhill
has posted a link..

I like the AP feed at the NYT and Drudge.

The LA Times doesn't even cover the San Gabriel Valley. Screw 'em.

Bev ****ley reads Drudge. One pathological liar getting her news from
a group of pathological liars. No surprise.
