Are the weather and snow really that abysmal? These posts seem to be the classical signs of the "avoidance syndrome". Well, things are definitely winding down here. We've got a couple more weeks, maybe three if we get a cold spell and some more snow, but past that you'd be driving a distance and skiing on dirt pie. I'd rather get out the bike and tennis racket when it gets to that point. |

I'd rather get out the bike and tennis racket when it gets to that point. Here as well. Even Sault Ste Marie based Lake Superior State's local hill has closed for the season. I'm trying to wring another 5 or so days out of the season, but I'll be driving a distance and skiing on a dirt pie. When I come back, the usual bad jokes, insider references and occasional rant will be cheerfully provided free of charge to all comers. |

The MSU Spartans, who's two closest hills are Trashmore and Cannonsberg, are not what you'd think of as a skiing powerhouse. If they were in contention for the national championship in skiing *that* would be news. Of course, from TFA, I see that Northern Michigan did well in the Nordic portion of the meet. GO ...um...what is the mascot for NMU again?..!!! //Walt |
