If I'm ever wealthy enough to be truly eccentric, I'm going to wear
the same outfit every day. Granted, a different outfit for different
conditions, and I'll have (clean) multiples of it - but the same
outfit. For example, today I'll be wearing olive green wool socks,
waterproof leather shoes with a nice lug sole, blue-jeans, brown
leather belt, white wicking t-shirt, tan Patagonia button down
(sleeves rolled up), and a royal blule Marmot Precip jacket. It's the
perfect fall outfit. I can scrape paint, rake leaves, and wax the
truck, and then blend right in at the bar for a beer at the end of the
day. Granted, there are a few restaurants that would really frown on
my attire - but I don't want to eat there anyways.

Eventually I'd like to get to the point where I own nothing but a BMW
1150 GS (http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/r1150gs_2004.jsp), the
appropriate cycling gear and a passport.

Just a quick update - In an effort to further simplify, I've discarded
all of my music except for the hit single "Stacy's Mom" (has got it
goin' on...).

If I'm ever rich enough, I'm going to divide my year between skiing,
surfing, snorkelling, MTB, horses...

So your plan wouldn't be practical.
I just wouldn't ever wear anything uncomfortable, like ladies' shoes.
Ski boots are preferable, believe me.

You might smell right for the bar after all those activities and not
so right for the restaurants, eh?

There used to be a regular on Jack Paar who wore black suits with a
gray shirt and bow ties. Same garb scheme for every appearance. Kind
of his trademark, eh? Of course, you're probably not old enough to
remember Jack Paar.
