Did it suddenly get bigger.

Reminds me how all the Ponds in Vermont
(or at least those with property for sale on the shoreline) suddenly became
Lakes.

Thanks, I will investigate it. Marquette Mountain sounds better than Vail.

It is. I skied at both last season. Marquette Mountain is by far the
better place to ski. No question about it at all.

Probably Vail is very nice, but the name does not sound very romantic.

Oh c'mon. What could be more romantic than spending an entire day
standing in a lift queue?

When I was single, staning in lift lines was a waste of time. When I got
married, standing in line became quality time with someone I love.

Of course, when I was single, I would look for a lift with a quick singles
line.

Warren Miller mentions this in one of his *old* movies
(SnowWonder, or Ski Film Festival) how they repaint the
altitude on their sign a little higher each year.
So, the growth wasn't sudden, more incremental, as Warren
Miller reports.

When I was single, standing in lift lines became quality time with
someone I intended to love, after a quick chat. When I got married,
standing in lines was a waste of time: since she doesn't always ski the
same lifts as I.

line.

I like quick singles. Some of them are also pretty.

Riding one of those old slow two seater lifts with your significant
other is romantic.

Waiting in line for a high speed gondola with twenty-two thouand of your
closest friends is just plain annoying.

Is that the place where patrons are requested to bring stones from home
for deposit on the summit?

In my Lost Ski Area data base it says that the name changed in 1965 when Wilmot
managed to bulldoze up another 20 feet of elevation. Not sure where I got that
quote.

Sheez Bev, I don't know. I only ski on real mountains, in Colorado.

I have just been watching some of my Warren Miller flix while
looking over my all new ski gear, wondering if I will figure out
all this new fangled stuff.
Boots: Salomon Crossmax 10.0
Bindings: Tyrolia LD12
Twigs: Volkl Vertigo GT 168cm (has anyone heard of these things? About
the
only sites that google finds are *Russian*)
At least they were sub $200. If they suck, they quickly become
my rock skis.

Prior gear:
Boots: Salomon SX91 Equipe
Bindings: Tyrolia 360/380
Twigs: Dynamic VR 15 (190 & 200cm) & VR 27 195cm
